Hello, Superball

The secrets finally out – we’ll be joining the illustrious Superball Records for the fourth Maybeshewill record. This is something that excites us enormously and we’re looking forward to working with them to make sure you can get our music in more places in more countries so that we can come and play for even more of you lot. That’s what it’s all about at the end of the day, and we’re confident that between us we can make that happen in a way that is appropriately awesome. We’ve toured with so many of the bands on their roster already – Trail of Dead, 65daysofstatic, Long Distance Calling – and we trust them implicitly to look after us in the coming years.

But first we need to extend the hugest, hugest thanks and express our incredible affection for Shane and everyone at Function records for their work on I Was Here For A Moment Then I Was Gone. They are some of the best people alive, and we couldn’t have asked for more from them – consequently moving on was an incredibly emotional decision to make. Looking back at the last three years we’ve all come such a long way and we’re so grateful that they were a part of the adventure. From the bottom of our hearts, Thank You.

For the record we’ll continue to manage ourselves and run this band the way we want it run, and we’re working on a record that we’re already very proud of. We can’t wait for you to hear it. We’ll also continue to work with our good friends and hardest working booking and press agents in Yorkshire (if not the world), Haydn Britland at Northern Music and Simon Glacken at ilikepress, who also deserves a massive slice of the credit for the last three years of our lives.

So, bring on the next chapter. A new record, thousands of miles more motorway, countless airports and cities to pass through… We wouldn’t have it any other way.

So here we go. We’ll be playing the following festival shows this summer, trying out some of the songs from the new record and dusting off some old favourites. The first of those to be announced are…

3rd May – Aloud Music Festival, Barcelona, Spain
12th July – 2000 Trees Festival, Gloucestershire, UK
18th July – Truck Festival, Oxfordshire, UK
19th July – New Noise Festival, Karlsruhe, Germany
20th July – Welcome to the Village Festival, Netherlands
16th August – Pukkelpop Festival, Belgium
29th August – ArcTanGent Festival, Bristol, UK

The last tour already feels too long ago, so we’re psyched to be getting out to see you all again finally. As always, come and say hi.

Jim, Matt, John, Robin and Jamie
